Trained as a Mediator in 1997 and after further training qualified to conduct Direct Consultation with children in the mediation process. She also qualified as a Supervisor of fellow mediators.
Liz comes from a therapeutic background, and after acquiring her Masters Degree in Psychodynamic Therapy she qualified as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and also undertook training in Systemic Family Therapy, and has many years experience working with couples, individuals and families.
Before her mediation career, Liz was a college lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and at one stage held the post as Clinical Manager in a large Derbyshire counselling service.
As well as working as a Mediator Liz continued to act as an expert witness in family proceedings, usually in public law cases involving complex family issues.
Liz is qualified to conduct all forms of mediation but because of her special skills in children’s cases she mostly mediates with parents to help them resolve issues concerning their children.
