Ian Wilson

Ian’s professional background is in Social Work. He began working as a Social Worker some 30 years ago, the greater part of his work involving children and families. Ian has worked in the field of child protection and also with families and young people who have been involved with the Police and in the Court system.

Ian has an Honours Degree in Psychology which further assists his work with families.

Ian qualified as a Family Mediator some years ago, initially working in the not for profit sector with Action for Children, involving himself directly with children and parents affected by family change, offering them support and information.

Ian is qualified to offer Direct Consultation with children in the Mediation process and he has also set up and run Parenting Information Programs (PIPs) providing information to separated parents referred from the Court system.

Ian is qualified to conduct all issues mediation but particularly enjoys working in child mediation dealing with all types of cases including the most challenging ones.
