Caroline’s professional career began in nursing, working in various roles including those as a Midwife and Health Visitor, later moving into general management of Women’s, Young People’s and Children’s services in Hackney, Camden and Islington.
She was the health lead for child protection in these three inner city London boroughs, developing guidance on which current national guidance is based in the identification and management of domestic violence, and for working with children of parents with alcohol or drug problems.
This was followed by a five year role as National Health Adviser to the Government’s Sure Start Unit and later National Director of Childline. She has also worked in the Department of Health, Child Health branch implementing policy nationally for children and young people in the Youth Justice System
For six years Caroline was a member of the Advisory Council for the Misuse of Drugs
Caroline sits as Chair of Magistrates on the Family Law Panel and as Chair of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board in Harrow
Following her recent move to settle permanently in Derbyshire Caroline has been able to offer her mediation skills to FMF.
Caroline is trained to offer all issues mediation, but her professional background has given her exceptional skills for dealing with children’s cases.
