• I am Liz Guyler, the main mediator with MEDIATE NOW! Although the practice does use the services of other appropriately qualified mediators in some cases.
  
  
• I have been working as a lawyer for 22 years having specialised in family law for the last 17 years. I have recently qualified for the higher level of the Law Society's Family Law Panel.
  
  
• To qualify as a mediator, which I did in 1995, I trained with the Family Mediator's Association and then to allow me to do work with charities such as N.C.H I undertook additional training and qualification with National Family Mediation.
  
  
• I now mediate for a number of organisations and am also qualified to carry out mediations which include direct consultation with children
  
  
• My interest in mediation developed as a result of my experiences as a family lawyer where I became increasingly aware that a high proportion of legal cases were unsuited to the adversarial system, but until a few years ago no alternative system was available.
  
  
• Not all cases are right for mediation, but now clients can make a choice for themselves about which process best suits their particular case.
